Resource Standards

Resource standards: how information is prepared and reviewed

Pharmacy professionals make decisions that affect patients, colleagues, and organizations, and the resources they rely on should meet an equally high standard.

The PharmD Hub™ resource hub supports professional learning and informed decisions. These standards set out the approach to selecting, preparing, and reviewing resources, and to addressing concerns about accuracy.

What should a useful pharmacy resource make clear?

A useful resource identifies its purpose, intended audience, sources, and important limitations.

Substantive guides identify the people responsible for preparing and reviewing the material and show relevant dates. External resources remain subject to the issuing organization’s requirements and updates.

Sources and Interpretation

We prioritize original sources appropriate to the question, including official requirements, prescribing information, research, and published datasets.

Source findings are distinguished from interpretation and practical suggestions. Links allow you to examine the underlying information yourself.

Preparation and Review

PharmD Hub content is developed and reviewed by licensed pharmacists.

Substantive resources identify their contributors and reviewers. Clinical material requires review by an appropriately qualified pharmacist before it is made available. Regulatory guidance is checked against the responsible authority’s information. A review applies to the stated scope and date; it does not replace individual professional judgment or the authority of a regulator.

Data and Statistics

Numerical claims identify their source and reference period.

Definitions that affect interpretation are explained, including the difference between averages and medians, projections and observed results. National figures are reference points, not predictions for an individual.

Resource Dates

The published date shows when a resource first became available.

The updated date reflects a substantive change. A review date records when the stated review occurred. Dates should reflect actual work rather than make unchanged material appear new.

Corrections

Use the contact form to report an error or unclear statement.

Include the page address, the passage in question, and an authoritative source when available. Material corrections are explained on the affected page with a correction date. Material may be restricted or removed while a serious concern is reviewed.

Commercial Relationships and Disclosures

Sponsorship and relevant commercial relationships must be disclosed.

Promotional material must be clearly distinguished from general resources. Commercial support does not justify an unsupported claim, an undisclosed endorsement, or preferential treatment presented as objective guidance.

AI Assistance and Human Responsibility

AI may assist with research or drafting, but responsibility for a resource remains with its human contributors and reviewers.

Sources, quotations, and substantive claims require verification. Invented experts, experiences, references, and outcomes have no place in the resource hub.

Scope and Privacy

PharmD Hub supports professional learning and informed inquiry.

It does not replace clinical judgment, official licensing requirements, or advice specific to your circumstances. Public forms must not be used to submit patient information or confidential records.
